Did you know that Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in late September NOT October! Originally a wedding/anniversary of the Royal Family in Germany. It was moved forward to take advantage of the nicer warmer temperatures of September.
It was an incredible day at both Golden Pond and Simcoe Heritage. We had faculty visit from a few local schools - St. Bernard’s, St. Joseph’s, and Holy Trinity.![]()
They volunteered their time, helping to prepare the home for Fall, with some decorating, yard cleanup, and of course some sing-along with musician Luanne Ashe.![]()

PHEW - That first week of school is now under our belts! Any parent, young or old, can relate to the relief that this week gives after a chaotic summer.

As we say our farewell to summer for another year, we also welcome fall.![]()
Even though the first day of fall isn't until September 23rd, we seem to associate the changes that transpire as an unofficial time marker. The youth are headed back to school, which curtails family getaways and vacations, the end of summer vacation. ![]()
The harvest of root vegetables and gords prepares us for heartier meals. Although our days are still warm, the cooler and longer nights set in motion our Carolinian forests' beautiful visual displays. ![]()
And so it seems, no is the time to trade in that Lemonade in for a pumpkin spice latte!
